I am sure most match days each and every one of you walk past a member of the Saints Supporters Club selling match day draw tickets and wonder why they are selling them and where the profit from the sale of the ticket goes.

Well, to answer those questions.
For many years the Saints Supporters Club has been running the match day tote at Franklin’s Gardens with tickets being sold before the start of every home game, and the numbers being drawn and announced at half time. The 1st prize is normally £100, with on average 4 other cash prizes and two further prizes up for grabs each and every home game.

The profits from the sale of these tickets go towards giving reduced rate coach travel for members of the Supporters Club wishing to travel to away games, (we take travelling supporters to every away game in the premiership and all cup games that take place in England) donations are made to players testimonial years, in recent times we have donated to Matt Dawson, Nick Beal, Jon Phillips and Paul Grayson. We are also able to donate to worthy causes including the poppy appeal, British Heart Foundation, various injured players including Steve Kenyon and Andy Blythe. But probably most importantly we are able to donate to the club and players directly. Through the tote and other fundraisers, we have been able to donate a freezer, ice maker and crusher, judo mats and a fax machine to name but a few.

Next time you decide to walk past a tote seller and not buy a ticket, please remember we are doing this for the club, the more funds we raise, the more we can donate for OUR club.
